I went to Clicks Vaalmall today bought for the amount of R529.70. When I got to the pay-point the cashier moved my credit card before the machine said he can remove it. The transaction was declined. He talk in a way that made every one aware that my transaction was declined. He then swipe my card (although it has a chip and has to be inserted) and then insert it and although the card machine said approved the cashier again said it was declined humiliating me in front of about 50 people.
I then requested to see the manager. He said I must put the card though again and if it went though twice I will have to came and fetch my money. Clicks will not pay for the costs because of their mistake. He cancelled the transaction on the till point not on my credit card and then asked the cashier next to the one to assist me. The card went through approved just like the previous time.
I am totally not happy with the way I was treated today.
