HOW ONE BAD EXPERIENCE INFLUENCE CUSTOMER BEHAVIOR

My wife bought a shirt for my son, when he tried it on the shirt was to big. It took me a while to attend to the exchange but when I took the shirt back last weekend, I unfortunately had the incorrect slip with me. On trying to assist they said that the shirt was bought on sale which was not the case. I returned home and we found the correct slip indicating that the shirt was not bought on sale. I returned and I found another shirt - shirt bought R225.00, shirt I wanted to take R275.00. At the customer services counter I was informed that this range of shirts were subsequently placed on sale and that was now not on their system, and that they cannot exchange the shirt now as we have now moved passed the last date of returning of goods. If I had the correct slip last week it would have been fine as the last day of return was 17 September and as it was now 21 September - no chance.
I asked to speak to the manager and on waiting the person who assisted me discussed my issue with the next customer giggling about this - unaccetable. I phoned head office and they were not interested in my story. I have destroyed my sach card and will now shop elsewhere.
