Out of Stock AFTER I paid for it!!

My husband and I purchased a Dining Room Table on 18 August 2013 which was on sale - 25%. On Friday, 13 September 2013 my husband went past the store again to enquire on the delivery of our table. He was then informed by the salesperson, Dumisani, that the table we purchased is out of stock and the range has ended which means that we can no longer get it. He did not bother to phone us, instead he said that he had sent an email the previous day which we never received. His branch manager was not even aware of this situation and upon hearing about it, tried to entice my husband to purchase another table instead saying that they will give us 25% discount on this unit as well. We do not want another table - we have been searching for months for the perfect table and we paid for it, therefore, THIS IS WHAT WE WANT. This is against the Consumer Protection Act and also Misrepresentation. I have phoned head office but have not received a call back. Wetherlys is probably one of the most high end furniture stores in South Africa therefore we expect the kind of service that we pay for. I won't leave it here.
