I bought ankle weights for 1 of my proteges at the Durbanville Children's Home as he is an exceptional athlete & he asked for training weights for his birthday gift. A few days after his birthday he returned them to me as they were torn - clearly due to weak fabric.
I returned them to Mr. Price Sport & had to argue to gain a replacement. Within a week or so these also tore, in the same position! Patently this is a pathetic quality product - Maxed is the brand. Hopeless quality.
I returned them again & indicated that I require a refund as in terms of the Consumer Protection Act I am entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. Repair was not possible as the fabric was torn. Replacement was already tried & failed. Refund was the only remaining option.
After trying hard to reject my request, they eventually made a big fuss and refunded my money. But, they asked for my contact details!
There is no law in this country that requires a consumer to provide contact details on refund of faulty goods! You are NOT required to provide this! I refused to provide it, & took my money & left.
Yes, I received the refund, but with that attitude they won't see me again any time soon.
You lose.
