Call centre agents do not understand

I have an outstanding balance of R4, 969.16 on my Electric Express account. I pay a monthly installment of R581.00. I have R4, 000.00 to pay on the account right now, which means I will have R969.16 outstanding. I still have 14 months left to pay off the outstanding balance. Now, here is the issue. I called in to request that I pay R4, 000.00 now, or this week and have the remaining R969.16 divided across 6 months or so. In doing so reducing the installment amount to something like R161.52 plus whatever little charges that make out the entire monthly installment. Oh dear, what have I done? He was lost, kept adding life insurances and fees that would ultimately make out my current installment of R581.00. I get that, but I need to reduce the current installment to what I would afford after paying off at least over 90% of the current balance. Surely I can make such a request after making such a huge payment, can't I.

Someone please help out. Before the 07th September if possible.
