Pick 'n Pay
Credit card payment rip-off

I did my shopping at Pick 'n Pay, Mdantsane and proceeded to checkout where Pamela Guzana was. I gave her my Nedbank Children's Affinity credit card to pay for my purchases totalling R624.50. The lady asked me which repayment term I was to choose, I responded that I was to pay it straight (once-off). She explained that their "new system" wanted me to pay over a minimum of 6 months. Lo and behold, why was I to be forced to pay interest when I could afford to pay it instantly? There were several choices available but none could assist me pay interest-free. Why? I ended up paying with my FNB Smart account at no charge. This led me to lose out on my Greenbacks and the Nelson Mandela Children's Fund also losing the donation made by Nedbank whenever I swipe my credit card to make a purchase. Why did we have to lose out? This is the first time I have had such an experience, I use the same card everywhere. Is Pick 'n Pay doing this only in black townships, assuming that people are stupid enough to pay for nothing? If so, why are they insulting us? If not, why are they so ruthless to squeeze the last breath from debt-stressed individuals? Should they be allowed to do this?
