I went into CNA to open a 6 month free interest account. I asked, and no one told me Edcon no longer offers 6 months free interest on their accounts. So I went through all the effort of opening an account, forms, phone calls etc... I left work early to pick up my card and sat around waiting and signing forms only to be told at the end of all of this that Edcon no longer offers 6 months interest free. What may I ask is the point of the account? My credit card offers almost half the 21% interest rate and I get points every time I swipe my credit card. Trying to salvage some value I tried to join Edcons benefits club. After wasting half an hour and loads of airtime I eventually gave up on that idea. It's not like I dont get the benefits already from Vitality anyway. The only thing it appears an Edcon account is for is harming those already struggling with too much debt. Might as well shop at Woolworths.
