I work within walking distance of Woolworths and I've always enjoyed shopping their for its convenience and friendly staff. In the past few months that's all changed, The staff packing shelves are always friendly and very helpful, its only when you get to the cashiers that the service goes downhill.
If you are lucky enough to get a smile and be greeted, it will probably be followed by a host of complaints about being tired or 'annoying' customers - as they say. I often feel as though I'm interrupting their conversations when I need to pay for my purchase. I was in Woolies twice on Friday, once to buy a pair of shoes, and the second time - to exchange them as 1 had a small hole. Both times the ladies at the till never said hi or even asked why I'm exchanging the shoes for the exact same pair? Low and behold the shoes are back on the shelf today! I think the staff need to go on a team building or something. They've lost the spark and enthusiasm for their jobs.
