In November 2013 upgraded my MTN phone for a Blackberry 9790 and requested that the phone be insured. Within a week of receiving the phone the screen became faulty and was blank, I was told to take it back to the store as it was still under warranty. The store informed me that the 9790 is no longer in stock and that they would replace the phone with a Blackberry 9720. Due to the fact that the store initiated the insurance for me I understood that they would change the phone details with the insurance, since they issued a different phone. At no time was I informed that I would have to contact the insurance with the details of the new phone.
The phone has once again broken and I have since sent through a claim form for it to be collected and repaired. The claim form was sent onThursday 16th Jan, as usual I had to contact the insurance to see what was happening. I was informed that the IMEI numbers do not match and thus my claim would possibly be denied. The fact that the insurance was not updated was due to myself not being informed that this is to happen. Another issue is that I have never received a copy of the policy for the upgraded phone. Apalling service!!!
