I took my car for some basic repairs as I intend to sell it, and explained I was intending to do the minimum and to please only look at the specified issues. The quote came in at R5, 000 which was far, far higher than I felt reasonable so I said I'd come and get the car. All of a sudden there was a R750 ''diagnostic'' charge that had not been mentioned upfront, that I reluctantly paid.
The next day I took my car out and none of the internal electrics were working (they had been). I found this out on the N1 when the windscreen wipers failed to work. Jayson said it wasn't their fault, it would have happened anyway and to bring the car back for them to put right. I did this and then they refused to release the car until I paid a further R280 for ''all the work''. I have now spent over a grand for the privilege of getting back a car that is in worse condition than it started in. DO NOT TOUCH THIS GARAGE. Jay-Jays is the type of establishment that gives car mechanics a bad name.
