We went to game store in south gate to buy a PVR decoder,
Before buying the decoder I asked the sales ref if the standard connection I have will work with the pvr and if I required a different installation to accommodate the pvr, his response was all we need to do ti phone multichioce to activate the smart card and it pvr would work.
I then paid R1400 for the pvr. When I got home and connected the PVR it worked perfectly but cannot use any of the pvr functions, I then contact multichoice to find out I require a 2 wire installation and a would need to contact a installer to set up, I then checked the box does not contain a installation certificate which I found really stupid. When you buy a entry level decider that cost about R500 you get a free install voucher but when buying a high end decoder you do-not get any preference you have to pay for the install, the installation guy quoted R800, when I asked him why so expensive his response was the parts are expensive.
If the sales rep informed me of this I would not have bought from game but from a store stat offers install voucher, but all he was interested in was making a sale.
