What on earth is OTA?

I received the first sms on 29/07/13 telling me to register for OTA. Since I don't know what that is I ignored it. I received another sms that same day, and a few more the next day. Realising ignoring it wasnt working i smsd "out" to opt out. A few days later I received an sms with a pin number thanking me for registering for OTA! I tried calling the number included in the sms to ask what was going on, but kept getting cut off, I called back throughout the day! No luck! I then called customer services, who told me that one of the store assistants must have registered me with my last transaction and that he couldn't help me deregister, I needed to go into a store or keep dialling the non-functioning number. Sunday I go the customer services dept at Edgars in Cresta and they tell me to talk to the cellphone department, where the lady says to me that its got nothing to do with her, I must have bought airtime! I dont need airtime, I've never bought any! Yesterday I called the number in the sms again and I FINALLY got through to an agent. He said he would forward my details to the relevant person who would contact me to deregister. I just received another sms! I dont want this, whatever it is!
