I went to Pick 'n Pay in Longbeach Mall last week and I had a packet with me. I showed the security guard who was standing at the entrance and he told me to take it to the parcel counter. The security man is still in the same place, but now, rather than place some tape on my bag, he wants me to go and find the parcel counter. The system has changed and his job is now to tell everyone that is has changed, while he stands in exactly the same place.
I left.
It is bad enough being treated like a criminal when you go to Pick 'n Pay by the security adding the tape. Now they want us to make an extra trip to hand in your parcel. I can't imagine how much thoroughfare this will create for the parcel counter. This doesn't happen at Woolworths, The Food Lovers Market or Clicks.
Where do you think I am going to shop from now on? Anywhere else... and Pick 'n Pay when I can't get it elsewhere!
