My sister (MC Thaba: ID no: 8607290688088), worked at Pick n Pay Supermarket at Kempton Square for about 3 years. She resigned at the end of November 2012. Up to date, her employer is refusing to submit pension / provident claim forms to Liberty life in order for the money to be paid out to her. Apparently, the reason is that she did not serve the required termination of employment notice. This is beside their refusal to pay out money for leave days for the same reason. It is not fair for big corporates to abuse and exploit our brothers and sister like we are still living in the apartheid South Africa. My questions are 1) Is it a policy of Pick n pay to punish employees who have not served the required notice period upon resignation? 2) Is the action of the store owner concerned even legal? 3) Is she not entitled to this money as it was deducted directly from her salary every single month? Please pay her out, it's her money, she worked hard for it.
