Every time I go to Checkers Durbanville I promise myself never again. Parking is a huge problem. I always have to circle the back and front at least 15min before finding space. The shop is extremely cramped to say the least. The service at the bread and deli counter is horrific. There is always a line and although there are lots of women working behind the counter there is always just one or maybe two attending to the clients. They are usually very loud talking to one another, not at all bothered by the waiting clients and sluggish to say the least. I don't know how many times I've put down a bowl of salad that I just can not get weighed or turned around empty handed with no lunch after waiting how long in a line. Most people take lunch between 12h and 14h. The deli is always busy preparing food if I arrive between these times. Should it not be ready? I don't want yesterdays dried up, oily bits & pieces of food. I raised a complaint with a manager today about the sluggish service. He attended to the problem immediatly but I'm fedup with this place. In future I'll stick to PnP Durbanville. Easy parking, friendly service, fresh and ready prepared food, wide and open store.
