On Tuesday 5 February 3 of my co-workers bought grilled chicken at the Deli at Checkers in the van der Lingen Centre in Paarl. 2 Hours after consuming the food, they all became ver y ill, which left them sick and in bed for 3 days. These people went back to the store to speak to the manager and inform him about the situation, but the staff on duty refused to call the manager and begged these people to please not tell the manager about the food that was off and that they had food poisoning after consuming the food. Which clearly tells me that this is not the first time that someting like this happened? My concern is then how many other people had the same experience and might still have this experience? We pay for the food and expect freshly prepared food, not food that makes you ill and leave you with a doctor's bill and expenses. I really hope this will be sorted out as a matter of urgency!
