I called dis-chem Friday 19 July 2013, to confirm they operating hours for the clinic. The lady I spoke to on the phone confirmed that they close at 17:30 pm. My niece and I got there stood in the queue. The lady came out after 17:00 telling us we must go home at 17:30 as she is not going to help anymore people. There were 3 customers / patients waiting. 2 of us were black and 1 white lady. The white lady told her that she called her to confirm the times and the nurse told the white lady to come in. I told her i called as well and she told me and the other black lady that she will not be helping us. I asked to speak to the Manager. While I was still talking to the front store manager. A white man came to get his shorts for his daughter. The lady told him to come in and she helped him.
I was so shocked because I have never, ever in my life been discriminated against in this way. She told us that we could not even book for the Saturday because she is fully booked. The front store manager told me that he understands that what she was doing was wrong, but she does not report to him and there is nothing he can do. He told me her Name is Leticia.
