I had an Edgars account in 1998 while I was a student and it was paid in full in 2001. Ever since that time till now, I never had any clothing account again. Recently I have been receiving threatening SMS's of being blacklisted from VVM attorneys that I am owing Edgars. I called the Edgars customer care disputing the amount and I have been told to provide the receipt. Now I am having the following concerns:
o If I owe Edgars can I be supplied with records of what did I bought after paying the account?
o It is now 12 years since I paid that account, why was I not been told that I owe Edgars in the last 12 years?
o How can I be expected to have a receipt that dates back to 12 years, is that make sense?
o In the past 12 years, I made credit checks several times with transunion and there was nothing appearing and in fact I struggled to get credit due to the fact that I had nothing on my profile
o It is said I owe R1200.00, what informs that? What did I purchase after paying off the account? I was also told that the last payment was in 1999 and there is no records of my payment in 2001.
Could I be assisted in this regard.
