One Saturday we went to Edgars to purchase a few goods. When wanting to pay we decided to use my card as it has recently been linked to my fiance's account and it will be an opportunity to test whether everything worked as should. My card did not want to go through, it indicated that i only had R11.00 credit available when there should have been almost R8000.00 We then decided to try my fiance's card as his has never given any problems. Then the same story with his card, only R11.00 credit. We went to customer services department, when we got there they said that our account is over the limit and that we owed R11400.00 on our account. We told them that that is impossible as we have just received a statement for R1400.00 With further investigation and after we needed to get a affidavit from our local police station, that stated that we did not make the purchases which amounts to R10 000.00 on our account, they found that numerous transactions have been made at various stores on our account. Suspected. It has now been 3 weeks and we have not heard from them. Is it not their responsibility to contact us? Should i rather close my account? What should we do This is not acceptable
