I am so annoyed with Edcon. I got an SMS from Transunion today that they received a listing that I'm a slow payer. Mid-May I downloaded my credit report which showed I was up to date then on 1 June I made a payment of R200 on the account. I kept getting SMS's about my monthly installment being due and the SMS says to ignore if payment has been made. I ignored because I had made a payment. I called Edcon today after receiving the SMS and I'm told that I had payed less than what I was supposed to. When I asked why I had not been notified of this the lady tells me it's stated on my statements. I pointed out that Edcon has decided to stop emailing me my statements. My account would sometimes be ahead because I'd pay in more than the required amount so I didn't stress too much about the amount I paid and figured I'll reactivate the automatic payments via my online banking. Edcon can harass you about trying to increase your limit or if you don't pay but they cannot bother to inform me that I need to increase the payment I made but instead choose to go to ITC, this when they haven't even bothered to send me a statement. The sooner I close this account the better.
