ByDesign products not good quality

I bought a bydesign slow cooker a few months ago, and last night my husband dropped the lid about 10 cm and it shattered into a million pieces. I phoned Hi Fi corporation to find out if i can order and buy a new lid. I was told that it is a hi fi corp product and that they do no sell any spares. This is unacceptable because firstly the quality if poor if it broke that easily - it didnt even crack it shattered into a million pieces. There is nothing wrong with the slow cooker now i need to replace the whole thing. I am very dissapointed.
