Add on policy cancelled without notification

Hi. I signed up for Edgars' Appliance Maintenance Plan in 2010 while being an Edgars customer for more than a decade. After a problem on one of my appliances i called to log a call at 0860737247 which is permanently engaged. Calling Edgars customer services at 0800203925 they referred me to 0861113555 which is actually Hollard Motor and Household Insurance. Eventually tried Edcon Account queries who referred me to Mastercare 0860737247 which does not work either.
Eventually I discovered from one of above numbers (got confused after being sent from pillar to post) that 'the system cancelled my policy' due to 'possible non payment or late payment during Dec 2012'. I checked my bank statement and I actually did an EFT on 27 Nov, i.e. early. I have since discovered that I did not make the min payment for the month.
My gripe:
Nobody contacted me to inform me of policy cancellation. Only when I called to claim, I discovered I had no cover anymore.
Now I cannot find anybody to help re-activate policy and it is going to cost me a further R1000 to fix appliance.
