Sold non-existent funeral policy

As explained in my previous post, a customer service agent at Edgars sold my Grandmother a funeral policy in 2008. They signed her up for the account and Gran went away happy that she was covered by a funeral policy. Edgars should not have sold her the policy as she was over 65 and not entitled to it. As far as the Underwriters are concerned there is no policy so they will not pay out. I accept that. My grievance is with EDGARS not the Insurers. That Customer Service Agent should have told my G, No Mam, you may not have a funeral policy with Edgars. Instead they went, yes Mam, no problem, let's sign you up. Not once did they say she was over the age limit. They simply signed her up for it. That mistake on the part of the Edgars CSA meant that my now indebted G never sought alternate cover for her eventual death and the associated costs. It is the fault of that Customer Service Agent and therefore of Edgars that she died without cover. I do not expect the Insurers to pay out. I expect Edgars to pay out to the value of the policy they 'sold' to my Gran. I have waited a week to hear that Edgars is NOT HEARING or UNDERSTANDING my grievance. I hold EDGARS solely responsible for this.
