On Tuesday, 14 May 2013, I was shopping at Edgars in Sandton. Upon leaving Edgars, I noted that I had misplaced my car keys somewhere in the store. I approached an employee to assist, who was both unprofessional and unhelpful. I eventually ascertained that no one had handed in the keys at that stage (I was leaving right before the store was to close).
On Wednesday, 15 May 2013, I attempted on many occasions to phone the Sandton Edgars in order to ascertain whether my car keys had been located, however, no one answered the phone.
I then called the general Edgars call centre and the representative with whom I spoke informed me that she would arrange for a representative of the Edgars in Sandton to contact me.
I have still not been contacted by anyone at Edgars. It is going to cost me several thousand Rand to purchase a new key.
The manner in which Edgars conducted themselves in this situation is both unprofessional and unacceptable.
