Employee steals customer's phone no compensation

While paying for a highchair at Baby Boom I left my phone on the counter. One of the employees of Baby Boom my phone. I went with the manager to the police station to open a case as she already suspected who it was. Once the detectives arrived to question the employee he admitted to my phone. He said he threw it away as he was nervous. The store manager agreed to replace my phone & later the area manager also agreed that it must be replaced. I have beed told repeatedly that my phone will be replaced. This was 3 weeks ago. Now the store manager says the directors don't want to give her authorisation to purchase a new phone. I have asked to speak to the director (s) & I was promised they will be in touch with me by the end of last week. Not 1 has had the decency to call me, instead they seem to be ignoring me and use the poor store manager to relay vague messages. The last message that I received only because I called yet again was that they're not liable for replacing my phone. This is disgusting since a representative of their company has admitted to my phone & 2 managers have agreed to replace it. In the last year I spent R10k at Baby Boom but get treated like a leech.
