I would like to lay a complaint about the Foschini Store in Randfontein as well as its management and area manager. My family went there to purchase a cell phone and while they were still there, my sister asked one of their saies assistant to show her a ring on the jewellery stand.
When the lady opened the jewellery cupboard it broke into fine pieces and some of the glass went into my sister's right eye. The Area Manager was contacted in Cape Town to find out what what procedure is when a custormer gets injured in the store. To our amazement we were informed that the store is not liable for my sister or any of their customers getting injured in store as that could have happenend to anyone and that if we decided to take her to the hospital we will have to foot the bill.
We were all shocked as we felt that at least they could have compansated or at least reimbursed us for the medical bills. It was really shocking to us when the area manager of all people told us that there was absolutely nothing that he can do. We feel that legal actions will be taken by our family against the Foschini Group. There are still some fine glass particles that are still in my sister's eye as we speak.
