Problem with functionality of product

I purchased the Matrix system last year for my vehicle. Since installation I had to return the vehicle twice so that they could determine why we would be receiving false alarms on our devise on a regular basis.

We are now selling the vehicle and the new owner wants to take over my cash option on the contract. I contacted Matrix on 04.02.13 to get the relevant paperwork. The 1st person did not proceed to provide me with the paperwork as promised. When I phoned again to ask for the paperwork, a lady then mailed me to say our device was not communicating properly and this needs to be replaced before ownership can be transferred.

My question to Matrix is why do they not inform a customer when the device is not working properly? What will happen if the vehicle gets? "Sorry sir, your device could not be found as it has not been communicating for a while now? - just a possible answer maybe that I would have received..."

Now the vehicle will be sold and the new owner will have to take it to a fitment center to be replaced for free as it is less than 1 years old, but still, why not inform customers that a devise is not working? not feeling safe leaving my vehicle now.
