Hi
Last year I bought a brand new car from a dealership.
After about 2 weeks of ownership I received a call from Altech Netstar that said that my car was already fitted with a tracker and that I could activate the service for R85 a month on a prepaid month to month contract.
I signed up and in march this year I sent them an email asking them to cancel my service.
I have since received both calls and emails from a Mr. Tshepo that was extremely rude and told me that I was signed into a 5 year contract and if I wanted to cancel I would need to pay the full term of 5 years up front.
He claims that they never received my email even though I received an automated response from them regarding my cancellation.
I also questioned him about the voice recording where he assures me that I agreed to a 5 year contract.
I am still waiting, they have proceeded to take a legal route to get their money.
I have asked Tshepo who gave netstar the right to install a unit in my car without my knowledge, a question he couldn't answer.
He says that I didnt pay R3500 for the unit and I am therefor bound by a 5 year term, I never asked for this to be installed in my car in the first place.
