My Mother is in the process of purchasing a vehicle and signed up with Discovery and their tracker which is part of their insurance premiums. A day later (5th July 2013) Mix Telematics phones her (obtained details from the car dealership) and starts talking about signup for a tracker. She then asked the call centre agent if they are doing this on behalf of Discovery / are affiliated with Discovery and the agent confirmed this / did not set the record straight that this is a separate sales call.
I feel they have taken advantage of my mom during the stressful period of purchasing a car and misreprented themselves as she was in the process of installing / purchasing a tracker (through Discovery). Mix Telematics already installed the tracker via the dealership without her knowledge.
If Mix Telematics are an ethical business they will remove the tracker immediately and cancel the contract without any cost to her.
