Multichoice WILL punish you if you do not stay with them. Five years ago I allowed my month to month subscription to lapse. Yesterday i decided to have a new decoder and dish installed, when i tried to activate it the problems started. It seems if you ever were a subscriber your account simply gets filed as dormant when you stop subscribing, and to reactivate there are reconnection fees etc. All that is still fine, however, they will not accept EFT proof of payment to activate a dormant account, they insist to wait until the payment shows in their account (3-5 days depending from which bank) They will accept proof of payment for any other accounts - suspended, arrears etc. just not dormant accounts. So the message is: stay with us or we will discriminate when you want to come back and punish you in any petty way we can.
