I signed a Lease agreement with Pam Golding in July and all was fine. Then the beginning of October the owner of the apartment we were renting communicated to our agent to inform us that she is giving us one months notice to move out, without it even being written. Fine we started looking and found a place in the same complex but could only move in end of November and she was fine with it. Then notified our Agent as well and the agent said we'll get our deposit back after we move out. We moved out in the early hours of the 29th of November and the agent came to inspect the apartment and was happy with the condition it was left in. The deposit i paid was R10150 which comprised of R4500 for Rent, R4500 for deposit, R650 for Leasing fee, and R500 for Utility Deposit. After 12 days of being out of that apartment i only received my deposit back today however it is still not the full amount. Because discussing this with my agent who has been struggling to get the money back into my account as well from the Cape Town offices i'm supposed to get about R4294 (which is R5000 - R706 (water and lights)) instead of the R3321.07 they deposited into my account today.
