Please can you advise us on this urgent matter. Where do I start? My family have been residing at in Fourways from August 2011, where we signed a lease with Living Investment Properties (LIP) who made us to believethat the owner was My Byron Seagal. LIP charged us deposit and rent of R26000 and R12500 rent for each month until December, they also demanded that we pay for rent when we hadnt even moved in! We got a very scary call from the real owner of the property, telling us we should stop paying Byron and pay rent to him. He and LIP have admitted on email that we were being overcharged by Byron who was sub letting the place to us illegally, as his contract had ended in September 2011. We have been given a new lease from the owner, rent has been cut down but we have been rudely informed that no plans are being made to refund us our deposit.. We are just expected to accept that we have lost out even though the owner and Byron's agent admit that we were being ripped off and Byron was only paying 75% of our rent to the owner and keeping the rest. LIP Manager/Owner, Natalie Fourie has since sold the business & there is a new owner now. WE NEED OUR DEPOSIT BACK which we paid to LIP acc
