Our complex has started using Protea Metering in October. purchase my first electricity for R300 to obtain 180 units. those units only lasted me 12 days. I called Protea to query the matter i was told that our previous electricity system was old so that is the reason why am seeing such a huge difference. i recharged again with R300.00 those units didnt even last a month i had to buy another voucher for R350.00. meaning in one month i have paid R950.00 electricity.

I called Protea Metering to alert them of the problem am experiencing, am not getting the assistance nor the explanation that justifies how come in one month of using prepaid meter have i doubled my expenditure. our electricity bill was R460 at most including monies paid to eskom. and total usage was 270 -310 units a month

as i write this complain as per this new meter system i have used over 400 units and i have paid over R800 to keep my lights on. we do not use electric heaters, our geryse has an automatic monitor to assist to save electricity as per eskom advise. Protea explanation is that for every amount i purchase electricity they charge me 5.5% for administration then one unit is R1.57 inc vat. I DEMAND ANSWER
