I had my account with trafalgar in arrears. Though I was not happy at all to pay the interest and related charges, I did so.
On the morning in question, I phoned and requested a complete balance from Karen in order to settle my balance. I asked her to give me the full and final amounts and confirmed the figures with her telephonically. I then transferred the monies into Trafalgar account, forwarded a copy of the proof of payment to her. I requested her to immediately allocate the payments and confirm that my account was cleared. She sent me an email thereafter confirming same.

I now get an sms from Trafalgar stating that my account is R289.77 in arrears. I phoned Karen to get some clarification. Her response is that the computer automatically generated the debt collection fee on the same date. Simple question>>>>I asked you for my balance, you gave it to me AS IT APPEARED ON YOUR SYSTEM, I paid, you confirmed receipt... how can you now request further payments. It is ridiculous to say that the computer did it and that it is perfectly legal.

Can someone with some sense please respond and sort out? How many have you fleeced in this same manner?
