I responded to an advertisement on Gumtree Wednesday, May 15, 2013 2:10 PM and finally got a response Sunday, May 19, 2013, at 1:46 PM. This is ridiculous. This "Agent" decides to email me this response:

Paul 082 xxx xxxx he lives next door., 103..has key. Can't you get someone to view for you as i do not let to people who haven't seen the flat as then they arrive and don't like it and you have to outlay 1 mths rent as deposit plus R868.60 admin fee that you do not get refunded., Then rent of R7000.00 due 28th June, 2013.

Now in my opinion this is lazy and pathetic. She won't bother to take pictures and shifts the responsibility to the tenant and the next door neighbour but then has the nerve to charge a R868 application fee and she will charge the owner a commission on this too.
It's time that people in the country start reporting this type of incompetent service in the letting industry and get these people shut down. I'm certainly going to start.
Did you notice, she can't even spell her name correctly.
