We signed a two year contract with Joanique Eco Park- Owner Joanique herself. We explained what our budget was and they agreed that we were well within our budget. The first 6 months were fine- after that the levy and electricity suddenly quadrupled in price. Considering we were only using the facility as storage, the electricity was a "flat rate" as Cheryl described it- we were in for R1300 per month. When I queried this they said its a flat rate? Also the overcharge of a levy that was basically not charged for 6 months and then suddenly charged. This was also an additional R1000 p.m. So if you looking at renting a factory there, be cautious as the rentals work out to R60 sqm with all the extra hidden charges. Not to mention we had leaks in our factory, a geyser that never worked, lack of parking.
For factories that old and in that condition they are very overpriced, and we manage to find another factory nearby that was modern and clean for R35 sqm with realistic levies and electricity we use is what we pay for.
We received our deposit back, after a list of deductions. Deposit R9, 000 paid Returned was R3, 600. Be warned, don't rent from Joanique as she is a!
