My mum recieves a pension because she is a cardiac/diabetic/hypertensive patient, in December 2012 her pension was stopped due to new medical check ups and reviews had to be done to check if she still qualified for pension. After going through all the necessary channels and medical check ups etc she was required to come back to Home Affairs Chatsworth KZN to apply again but was not told by any officials at home affairs you need to bring certain documents, so she went through on Tuesday at 8am and was sent away because she supposed to be ther at 6am to follow the queue she then went back on Thursday at 5am to follow the queue and was seen to at 11am just to be then told you need 3mnths bank statement, she then told the official she will go across the street to the bank and be back in 20minutes with it, the official Fathima rudely told her "NO, that wont help she must go and come back another day at 6am with it and follow the queue again! My mum then told her I have come here everyday this week and I cant afford the bus fares to come back and Fathimas response "thats not my problem" What I would like to know is this right to bring more suffering to the sick and underpriviledged.
