We Cannot help you

My account which I don't use so much was closed last week. I went to the bank to re-open the account, but the ID I used to open the account got lost when i moved. I found my first ID which was issued two years earlier, when i got to the bank they told me that i cant use that ID i must bring the one which I used to open the account, I told them that i cant find that ID and that i phoned the Dept. of Home Affairs and they told me as long as the ID Numbers is the same I can still use the ID that was issued two years earlier, I told the bank that but still they refused to help me, and told me i must get a letter from home affairs, I went to home affairs and they told me they don't give out such letters and that the old ID is still valid. I Phoned the branch again and told them that but still won't help me they said apply for a new and temp ID then we can help you. I Feel that with the ID document with the same ID number they must help me, All my bank accounts my spouses bank accounts and home loan is with this bank and still they don't want to help me.
