Empty promises, lame excuses

My mother passed away on 27 December 2012. The family is entitled to funeral benefits which, according to the GEPF website, are payable within 72 HOURS of receiving the application. Since 10 January 2013 I have submitted all the required documentation TWICE (GEPF mislaid the first batch), sent several email queries (none of which have been answered) and contacted GEPF telephonically on numerous occasions. Initially Mr Baloyi, Portia and other consultants blamed their system for the delay and now, almost 72 DAYS later, SARS is supposed to be the culprit. On 11 March I received an sms informing me that the payment would be made within 5 working days. Seven working days have passed without any sign of the payment.
