Government Pension Administration Agency
8 months - sent from pillar to post

I dedicated 22 years of my life to the SAPS, yet, when I resigned on 28 February 2013, I never imagined the bad service I would receive in claiming my heard earned pension money! I have been sent around during this past 8 months when I inquire about the money to be paid over. First my documents were lost and incomplete, and after two trips to Pretoria to hand in the required documents, I received no feedback at all. I had to phone and email. Everyday there is another problem. Are these people THAT incompetent, that they can not state all the problems at once? After 22 years of service, my tax number is suddenly wrong? On the 8th of August 2013 I received a mail from the call centre (in reply to a mail sent 2 months before) stating that my documents were correct now, and that it is in the finalization stage. The law states that pay out should be done within 6 weeks after documents were received correctly. We are now at 14 October 2013. According to the fund, the money was paid over on the 7th of October 2013. A request for the recognition of transfer and proof of payment was sent twice already on a letterhead from Sanlam. To date, we have not received neither.
