South African Police Service
Stopping cars for cash

On saturday night my wife and sister went out for dinner. About 1kms from home they were stopped by a police van. Two men got out and came to the window and demanded what ever money they had in their purses cos they were hungry. My wife panicked and started giving the guy whatever she had left (only R30 though). The officer took the money but was not to impressed with the amount. He then asked my sister who replied by saying " Hold on a minute! What have we done wrong? " The officer said that they had done nothing wrong and that he thought that the money was a donation. She then asked for his badge number and he replied with " Have you ladies been drinking? ". My sister said no and once again asked him for his badge number and what had they did wrong? He gave them the money back while the other officer hurridly turned their van around. He then said just go home and he jumped into the van and drove off! 7
These are the guys that should be making sure people get home safe! Not to make sure they buy the police food on the way home!
