South African Police Service
Police have no respect for citizens

Last Nite as i was driving down Lineria Cresc in Silvertown with my boyfiend, my nephew stoped the car. I then realised a Police Officer (one of two) from Athlone Police Station detained my nephew by the arm.

I identified myself to him and asked him what his looking for? The Police Officer gave no answer, one of the ladies (friend of my nephew) told me that the police suspects that he was in the possession of drugs and through it on the floor.

I then asked them (2 Police Officers) how long will the search take? The one Police Officer then told me with arrogance and utter disrespect "I don't need to tell u".
I then said i just asked you a question, the other one said: "I will arrest you as well" and he graped my arm.

I then pulled my arm back and said "for what", he then gave no answer.
I was very dismayed at the way the 2 officers showed me utter disrespect.

I am aware that there are serveral guidelines that a Police Officer must comply with during the "Patrol Search"
eg: The officer must tell the person the grounds for the search, searches must be carried out with coutesy, consideration, respect. ect

"No wonder people have no faith and disrespects Police Officers
