Dear Sir/madam

Please note this is my third attempt to contact you. Your emails keep bouncing back. I have contacted your headoffice and was told that the email address on the fine, does not exist, yet is being issued to the public.

On the 2 July '13, I boarded a train from Sandton to Rhodesfield. As is common the gates (entrance) to the trains are generally open, due to the volume of commuters.

I swiped my card and proceeded through the gate, with no problem, no beep, no closed gate etc.

When I got to Rhodesfiled, I was denied exit. The card read "Access denied". I then joined a queue of people who had the same problem. Whilst I waited there were approximately 8 people with the same problem. We had all had a similar experience.

We were issued a fine each and asked to appeal it. Hence my email.

I cannot accept that so many people had the same issue on the same day and that we are expected to pay this. When there were no alarms or measures to indicate that the card had not registered.

I have no intention of trying to avoid payment, especially as its a really small fee for the trip and I have already purchased a months pass.
