SARS
Sudden demand for payment and no details

Yesterday I received an SMS after business hours indicating that I owed SARS a payment of almost R20 000.

This was the first communication indicating that anything was amiss or owed that I was aware of. In a bit of shock, I logged on to the efiling site to try and determine if this was a. There I found two notices, one from October last year indicating that I owed just under R2000 - with no real explanation as to why the amount was owed, more just a statement of alleged fact. The other notice, from January this year, indicated that I now owed almost R20 000, again with no real explanation as to why. I thoroughly searched my e-mails to find any communications and I found 2 emails in my spam folder from october last year, again lacking any explanation for the owed funds, simply stating that I owed.

Now here are my problems:
I need an explanation of why this money is owed and why the amount has changed so drastically.
How can the amount owed have increased by 1000% in just 3 months?
I have just been on hold with the SARS call center for 3 hours before the call was disconnected, and I lost my place in the queue. There are no alternate contact methods!

I need this resolved now!
