SARS
For 20 yrs trying to resolve alleged tax debt

Details are:
1989/90: Tax debt created while working as a contract project manager in construction in the Transvaal.
1991: Joined Guestro Wheels in Heidelberg, a division of Dorbyl, as Manufacturing Manager.
Jan '93: Transferred to Cape Town as GM of Busaf Cape.
Feb '94: Retrenched from Busaf with 3 months salary (had been with the company for 3 years).
Jul '95: Received pension fund payment of approx R63 000 gross, R47 300 after tax. Pressurised to pay the R47k balance to SARS to settle the tax debt.
Nov '95: GENERAL INTEREST AMNESTY ANNOUNCED: Requested amnesty and told that there was no interest - R47k pmt had been applied to interest.
'96/97/98: Made further payments of R24k
Dec '99: Wrote Mrs Allie requesting review of acct
Sep 2000: Wrote Ms Wyngaard
Oct 2000: No mtg, Ms Wyngaard ill.
Dec '02: Met Mr vd Walt (Head Collections) to discuss acct
Feb '03: SARS moves to new premises - loose contact with Mr vd Walt
May '03: Submit letter to Mr Y.Effendi, again requesting resolution
May-Dec '03: several mtgs with Mr Effendi, no outcome, no follow up from SARS.

I am at my wits end. I turn 69 in Nov this year and can't afford to loose my remaining retirement savings to SARS.
