Beware of his pricing policy

My grandfather bought a Chrysler outboard motor rig from John of Sanford Boat and Ski. John promised him all sorts of support and backup. Behold the one coil gave up. As my grandfather lives 300km from Sanford Boat and Ski, I (grandson 39) offered to take the faulty coil to John as sample in order to buy a replacement. John charged me R2850 for the coil which I paid. The new coil was fitted and the engine was fixed.

Then John phoned my grandfather to ask when is he going to send him a photo of the coil in order for him to identify it for replacement. My grandfather was obviously quite surprised and told him that he already bought the new coil from him via his grandson at R2850. John sounded quite surprised and said it is impossible as the coil is only R1400! My grandfather gave him the invoice number after which John replied: "Oh, the name on the invoice is that of a company and they get charged double. There is nothing I can do about it now"!!!

I (grandson 39) phoned John to confirm the above which he immediately denied without even having to ask me who I am, my company name, who my grandfather is or the invoice number!
