Volkswagen
WHAT A TOTAL RIPOFF

On the 1st February 2014, I replaced the battery on my VW Polo as a result the memory on the factory fitted radio went out. After reading the owners manual I telephoned VW Technical Services on 0419945610 and was advised to email my details including the VIN number of the car and that the code for the radio will be sent to me. I sent the email as requested and on 04 February 2014 I made two follow up telephone calls, and was advised that the code cannot be sent to me and that I must take my vehicle to a VW Dealership to reset the radio code. On phoning the VW Dealership I was quoted R375.00 to reset. WHAT A RIPOFF!!! Why does VW include a step my step instruction in the owners manual when you have to be sent to a dealership and pay to reset the radio code. Why should I pay for a code that belongs to me... why was I to by the consultant that the code is obtained from Germany when my vehicle was assembled in RSA
