We bought my daughter a Raleigh Bike for Christmas from Game Stores in N1 City, Cape Town. The bike cost R900.00. On Christmas morning, when we opened the box to assemble, we saw that the frame between the pedals on the underside had split and been welded, seemingly while in the box still, because the bubble wrap had melted to the weld. The rest of the frame is dotted with rust spots. I contacted Raleigh the day after Christmas via email and waited until 2 November for a response at which time I phoned their Pretoria offices. I was told Raleigh policy is that complaints must be referred to the store the product was bought from. There seemed to be no remorse that my daughter has been unable to use her Christmas present for a week, that a product with their brand on it that comes at a premium price was supplied in such condition or the additional expense and energy it will cost me to make calls, drive back to the store and get an exchange. Raleigh and your representative, Liz, you should be ashamed. If it has your name on it, you cannot pass the buck to the store who sold it, especially when I am pretty sure it was supplied to Game in that condition.
