Terrible Customer Service at Cape Gate

On 28 December 2013, I bought a Raleigh Diamondback bicycle from Makro Cape Gate. After assembling it, the kids complained that something is holding back the bike. I turned it over and spun both wheels. After a couple of revolutions the back inner burst.

Upon investigation I found that the outer tire was actually damaged on two places. Contact me and I will forward these pictures.

I took the back wheel to Makro Cape Gate. At first the Raleigh technician refused to come to the returns counter. After the third phone call he eventually came to the counter. After looking at the tire he merely shrugged his shoulders and said there is no guarantee for tires or the inner tubes.

This was completely unacceptable to me, and I requested to speak to the Manager. Out came Robyn-Lea Urban, at the same time Customer Service went out the door. She was complete unhelpful, showed no empathy towards me as a customer. The more I tried to explain what happened, the more she said " That is your side of the story" trying to make me a. This is the person that should sit somewhere behind a computer and should not be allowed to interact with customers.
