Ridiculous service from GHD

I bought my wife a GHD in January 2012 for almost 2K. The GHD broke in November 2013. There is a two year warranty on the GHD. We sent it in as it was faulty together with all the slips and receipts. They emailed me saying that the styler is out of warranty as they cannot clearly see what the date on the slip is. This is absolutely unacceptable as when I pay 2K for something I expect good service. I will never buy a GHD again as we cannot afford to pay R2000 every two years.
